The red doll was the second servitor doll I made. Like most of the others I selected a second hand doll from a charity shop to use as the base. I remember seeing the base in a shop window and thinking ‘I want her for my red doll’. Compared to other baby dolls she looked so fierce and aggressive, almost to the point of being ugly. She also seemed slightly larger than most dolls, and she is the largest of the nine. This was back in the year 2000, maybe 2001.
Once I got her home I added layers of red enamel paints. Once these red base layers were dry, I added black sigils, which I later enhanced with gold for a more magical effect. I have since used her in many red related rituals and divinations.
One amusing thing about her that I find really amusing is that her arms seem to have a kind of ‘spring’ action, that can make it look like she is designed to punch like many boys action figures I remember from my childhood. None of the other nine colour dolls do this. I feel this as added confirmation that this doll was ‘meant’ to be the red doll.
